REDUCING WASTE, ELEVATING QUALITY
At Conser we can provide substantial improvement vs conventional technologies for C4 upgrading such as a patented off-gas recycling leading to unmet process performances. Starting from C4 stream, we can produce a plethora of molecules that have a wide variety of application: from biodegradable plastic production to the manufacturing of Li-ion batteries.
C4 Derivatives | NX CONSER™ MAN
Maleic anhydride is a versatile molecule used in various industries. It’s especially important in making unsaturated polyester resins, which are used in construction, automotive, and many other sectors. It’s also used in things like paints, coatings, and even in agriculture as a component in pesticides. I’s not just a product; it’s a crucial ingredient and a raw material in making many other chemicals too.
At CONSER, we’re leaders in producing maleic anhydride, and our process is designed to be efficient and environmentally friendly. We focus on reducing energy and water use while maintaining top-notch quality. Our high-quality technology has the best catalysts and reactors available. Accordingly with its worldwide leadership in MAN production, CONSER offers a MAN process with best technology features in terms of product recovery and purification such as lowest energy, water requirements and minimum environmental impact.
We’re also pioneers in recycling off-gases, aligning with global decarbonization efforts. Our commitment to quality and innovation has led us to develop a new production technology that promises even better results than before.
C4 Derivatives | NX CONSER™ BDO
Butanediol (BDO) is super important in industry for making lots of different chemicals and materials. It's used in plastics, polymers, solvents, and stretchy fibers. Because it has two special OH groups, it's great for starting all sorts of processes, like making polyurethanes, polyamides, and more.
At CONSER, we use a special technology to make BDO along with other chemicals like Tetrahydrofuran (THF) and Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) in one plant. This process is really flexible and lets us make pure products while fitting in with other production methods.
Today, BDO is really crucial for making biodegradable plastics, like PBAT and PBS. Our technology even lets us make both BDO and another important ingredient, DiMethylSuccinate (DMS), in one plant, which helps make the whole process more efficient. Discover more about CONSER Duetto technology.
We're committed to sustainability and offer a way to make BDO using bio-Succinic Acid. This bio route combines the benefits of our traditional process, like low energy use and high quality, with the advantages of using renewable resources.
C4 Derivatives | NX CONSER™ GBL
Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) is a clear liquid used to make other chemicals like paint removers and stain removers. It's used in many industries like pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and electronics.
GBL is also handy in the electronic industry as a solvent for making semiconductors, which are crucial for electronic devices like touchscreens and electric vehicle components. Semiconductors are also used in electric vehicles to control powertrain and battery and in a variety of touchscreens installed in car dashboards.
At CONSER, we've spent over 20 years perfecting our GBL production. Our technology not only creates high-quality GBL but also produces hydrogen as a bonus, which can be used in other chemical processes.
Our GBL technology is eco-friendly, with minimal by-products and low energy use. We're even building two new plants in China to meet growing demand, expected to start operating in 2024.
C4 Derivatives | NX CONSER™ NMP
N-Methyl Pyrrolidone (NMP) is a colourless liquid, fully miscible with water and most organic solvents.
It shows several advantages and properties, including low volatility, high biodegradability, non-corrosive behaviour, high thermal/chemical resistance. NMP is used in the production of a variety of different products, such as lithium-ion batteries, paint and coating strippers, cleaning agents, electronics, and more.
After several R&D years in EURODIOL Reasearch Center (Belgium), CONSER’s research on NMP achieved an important result in late 90’s with the Start-up of the EURODIOL NMP Plant production, having a capacity of 20.000 MTPY.
As a remarkable outcome, Conser has recently licensed two 100.000 MTPY NMP plants in Ningxia Province in China, with the start-up foreseen in 2024.
With its patented technology, CONSER offers a simple and very competitive process, that guarantees a very high-quality product (electronic grade).
Following a rich collaboration with several partners in the last decades, CONSER has reached a high level of optimization of NMP technology.
REDUCING WASTE, STEP UP IN QUALITY, DO NOT COMPROMISE ON SUSTAINABILITY
IIR and HIIR rubbers are super useful because they keep gases and liquids out, they have excellent mechanical properties in different temperatures, and elevated resilience to most chemicals. They’re big in making tires and used in adhesives, protective gear, and even medicine stuff like stoppers.
Butyl rubbers are valuable mainly due to the limited number of producers worldwide and the entry barriers for new potential producers and the relevant market is expected to reach a significative expansion with the growing demand from the tyre and inner tube industry.
NX CONSER™ C4 Derivatives | Conser IIR-HIIR
To meet this demand, CONSER has developed own technologies to produce IIR and HIIR rubbers. The distinctive aspects of these technologies are the high-quality product and the reduced consumption of raw materials, chemicals and utilities.
We’re the only ones offering this tech worldwide without needing to own the plant or sell the product.
Our experience and research led us to offer two types of technology: Double Slurry System (DDS) and Polymer Direct Dissolution (PDD). PDD, in particular, simplifies the whole process, making it easier to control quality and cheaper to set up and run.
PIONEERING GREEN TECHNOLOGY FOR HIGH-VALUE MOLECULES
Epichlorohydrin (ECH) plays a pivotal role in the petrochemical industry, especially in making epoxy resins, which make up a significant chunk of the market. But its usefulness doesn’t stop there, and it’s also used in a wide range of other applications like textiles, inks, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, liners, and more.
NX CONSER™ C3 Derivatives | Conser ECH-ECH EF
With over 40 years of expertise in ECH production, CONSER offers a cutting-edge process that prioritizes efficiency and a technologically advanced process, minimizing waste and utilities consumption, guaranteeing high-quality products. We’ve even developed a new, eco-friendly method called Epichlorohydrin Eco-Friendly (ECH-EF), which reduces waste, energy use, and costs.
While we’re committed to advancing this technology, we’re also exploring other options to keep up with market changes and environmental concerns. Our goal? To always offer the most effective and sustainable solutions for ECH field.
AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO BIODEGRADABLE PLASTICS PRODUCTION
NX CONSER™ Duetto technology is a groundbreaking process design that facilitates the production of biodegradable plastics intermediates from maleic anhydride. This technology is part of a comprehensive package that includes licensing, process design, and technical assistance, along with the supply of a specialized hydrogenation catalyst. Duetto technology is distinguished by its ability to produce both butanediol (BDO) and dimethyl-succinate (DMS), which are essential intermediates for creating biodegradable polymers such as Polybutylene Succinate (PBS) and Polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT).
NX CONSER™ Duetto
The technology’s versatility allows for the production of these compounds from C4 fractions like butane or from bio-derived succinic acid, offering a biobased alternative. The NX CONSER™ Duetto process is noted for its capital and operational expenditure savings, energy efficiency, and the capability to produce compostable materials starting from one feedstock. These attributes make it a valuable solution for industries seeking sustainable production methods, particularly in packaging and disposable tableware, as well as in the agricultural sector for mulch films and fishiry (fishing nets).
The adoption of NX CONSER™ Duetto technology aligns with global environmental protection efforts and the increasing demand for non-invasive and eco-friendly products. As regulations tighten and bans on non-biodegradable plastics become more prevalent, technologies like NX CONSER™ Duetto are poised to play a crucial role in the transition towards sustainable materials and the reduction of plastic waste accumulation.
